[ She stops for a moment wondering if she should take his hand again now that they’re outside and in public. After a moment of deliberating though she compromises by holding the hem of his sleeve. ]

Varian has known Rina long enough to know her well, though. He's not bothered by the way she lets his hand go to instead hold onto his sleeve, nodding as he moves his own hands to hold onto the straps of his bag.]

…The ones in this area are underground so I don’t think you’ve seen any yet. [ She hasn’t brought him far after all, mostly just to her school to meet the rest of the club. ]

[He's thinking more overall than in the sense of being horizontally long. The concept of vehicles being made up of multiple cars is still something he's getting a grasp on.]

[ She’s. Enjoying this a little too much. She would almost feel bad but they’re coming to the station anyway so soon he’ll see what she actually means. ]

[Varian is still going on about it even as they're coming up to the station, eyes flickering from the nearby commutors to where the station is. Wait, do this many people just....line up to ride on a DRAGON?]

[ She takes his hand again then and starts to lead him down the stairs underground. ]

Don’t worry - if you get scared I’ll protect you. I’ve rode it lots of times, so just leave everything to me.

[Varian follows Rina down the stairs, though going down like this doesn't really help him feel all that better about this whole thing. It's like they're going down into a dungeon...a lair, even.]

[He trails off once they make it to the bottom, just now realizing how big the area is down here. To house something THAT large...]

[ She notices the way he trails off as they get to the bottom, continuing over to the ticket machines. ]

It’s big down here, huh? There’s ones in other parts of Tokyo that span almost a whole city and are full of stores.

[Her mentioning stores should have tipped him off to the fact the dragon thing was a joke.

Mmhm. There’s even bakeries.

[ She thinks about getting a paper ticket… but if they go anywhere else before he goes home it might be easier to just have a card with some money already on it, so she’s just going to get him one of those.

As she does though there’s a rumbling further in the station past the ticket barrier… ]

[He's not scared, he says...as he sidles closer to Rina's side, looking past the barrier as if he expects something massive to come crawling out of the tunnel in the distance.]

Is...is it going to be here soon?

[ She looks back at him and nods. ]

Mm, in a few seconds. Though that might not be the one we’re taking… and if we miss it another will come in a few minutes.

[ She turns and hands him the pass. ]

But let’s hurry anyway. Unless you’re scared after all?

[He takes the pass from her carefully, reaching into his pocket for his wallet to put it in after using it. Maybe he should get one of those special pass carriers at some point...but for now, wallet.]

[ Well guess what Varian that means she's going to take your hand again--

...and start running towards the ticket barrier so they'll be there in time to see the train actually come WHICH IS RUMBLING LOUDER AND ALMOST HERE.

He's so not scared that he'll follow along with Rina without c- oh never mind we're RUNNING...we're running and he has to stuble along after to keep up, only to hear the sound of the distant train rumbling as it makes their way towards them.

Or...maybe roaring is a better descriptor?

There's a moment where it's almost arrived that Varian swears he can feel the actual ground shake, and that's when his resolve finally breaks and he shrinks behind Rina, halfway hiding behind the hood of her coat.]

Actually I changed my mind, maybe- maybe it's better if we just walk? Yeah, walking sounds good!

[ She slows down only to run her own pass over the scanner and tugs him along to do the same. ]

It’ll take forever to walk! Come on, it’ll be okay! You’ll like it, I promise.

[ The tunnels are in sight now and there’s SOMETHING with bright eyes that seems to be slowing down and getting closer but not fully in view yet. ]

[He'll like it? He's still got his pass in hand and manages to get it scanned after totally whiffing and missing the thing the first time, following close behind her afterwards as the lights from within start to approach them faster than he's prepared for.

He knew Rina was a lot more, like...hardcore than what met the eye, but this is shocking even for Varian. He doesn't say anything else yet and instead just sticks to her side like glue as they approach...]
