Poseidon jumps, and though the turtle is still relatively as calm as ever, the unexpected outburst causes her to swim away a little bit, leaving just Poseidon with Amphitrite in his hand in the middle of the open water. Poor Amphitrite...despite Poseidon being utterly taken aback by his appearance- and in a good way, mind- the goddess still seems...very upset and embarrassed. And that's not what Poseidon wanted him to have to feel like at all.]

A-ah-! Love, it- it is alright-!

[ Apparently what Amphitrite ultimately decides to do about this

and coil himself into an even tighter ball, hiding his head once more ]

Uuuuuuuuuuuuu.........

[Ah...the turtle has begun to swim away now, back to wherever she was originally headed, leaving Poseidon holding a little snake once more. He decides that the open sea is not the best place for this, and starts quietly swimming towards the nearest edge of the reef before they're noticed too much.]

Loove...

[He echoes softly, looking like he genuinely didn't mean for him to be embarrassed, if it's any consolation.]

[ He's still balled up tightly, though now he's not sure what's more embarrassing: what he's wearing or turning back into his natural form like that without realizing ]

I-I-I'm sorry, I-I'm fine, I j-just...

[ ...you know what. Both. Both are embarrassing ]

Uuuuggggggghhhhh what was I thinking? I didn't even realize--

[Poseidon slows down once he's made it back reefside with Amphitrite, hoping he'll feel a bit better once they get back home.]

Shhh, shh...it is alright. You do not have anything to apologize for. We will get you home, okay?

[He's still carrying that robe, so hopefully he'll be able to put together something quick using it to spare him from being a snake hiding in a crack in the wall all day.]

[ Oh... they're going home already...

It occurs to him that he's just ruined their little ocean tour

He's less embarrassed now just... sad. ]

[It's fine, they have millennia to explore the ocean. For now, the goddess' comfort matters more to Poseidon than anything else.

He swims down and follows the reef until he reaches their home, turning into the caverns until he makes it back into their room. Thankfully, their sons are gone from the reef entirely, probably out for the day. It means that they're relatively safe from intrusions.]

[ He still feels bad though. :(

He's still quiet as they make it back to the room, eventually loosening his coils and not holding on so tightly. After a while he speaks up ]

I... really am sorry though... you wanted to show me more of the ocean still...

It is alright, Amphitrite. We have plenty of time to see the sea, non?

[He carefully lays out the cloth atop where they both sleep, looking it over as he tries to think of how he is going to put it together. ...even after all of this, he thinks he has an idea.

He leans over and brings his hand up to his face, pressing his lips to the top of the snake's tiny head.]

I only want you to show me when you are comfortable with it. That way, we can both enjoy it.

[ Oh... a kiss... His scales turn red again. He really fell in love with someone wonderful, huh?

That thought suddenly gives him a little bit of courage to ask. ]

Did... Did I look okay...? From what you saw...

[Poseidon looks down at the snake coiled up in his fingers, his expression both soft and sincere.]

You looked incredible. And I am not just saying that. You...really looked like the mother of your sons, in that clothing. You looked like...

[His eyes fall half closed.]

Like...you had been here forever. And that we had been together this entire time...

...on top of being incredibly attractive, of course.

[ He lifts his head up, straightening his body ]

[Poseidon agrees, his smile just as warm and kind as it was before.

He brings Amphitrite close so he can touch the tip of his nose to his snake muzzle.]

You are so beautiful to me.

[ OH GOSH...... his scales turn red again and he can't help but nuzzle Poseidon's nose in return. ]

Th... Thank you...

[ he pauses ]

...I-In that case then...

[ They're home and alone now and he DID want Poseidon - and only Poseidon - to see him like this so... If he's going to say these things about how he looks then he should... let him have a better look at him.

So he transforms back into his natural form, now showing himself to Poseidon properly from the front. His face is red and he's averting his gaze... and also still covering his chest with one arm. But he's not hiding anything else anymore. ]

[Oh. He can't say he was actually expecting for him to change back so soon...at least not until he got his new clothes in order. But he's not disappointed by what he sees, either. Far from it. Even with Amphitrite covering himself still, it doesn't change the way Poseidon feels- and felt- after seeing him like this. It makes his heart beat almost painfully in his chest, and he can't help but reach out and gently rest a fingertip against the side of one of his arms.

...and before long, he's slowly but surely shrunk down to more like his own size, so instead of a finger he can rest his whole hand there, letting it trail down to his elbow.]

...Beautiful. Just...beautiful.

[It's all he can manage, really, before he can't hold himself back any longer and leans in to press a kiss to his lips, a proper one.]

[ First he's calling him beautiful again, and that alone is enough to deepen his blush but then he's kissing him... the first time they've been able to properly kiss since Amphitrite awoke.

It's that realization that makes him freeze at first-- the thing he's been waiting to be able to do for days, waiting until either of them was well enough again to change their size to kiss. Waiting so patiently... and now it's finally happening.

He doesn't keep covering his chest, instead moving both his arms around Poseidon's shoulders and neck, pulling him in closer with a soft moan. ]

[Admittedly, he was a bit...afraid that being so forward would not be taken well by the goddess. He'd been so upset and ashamed by his own appearance before that he was concerned he might be forcing an ideal onto him that he just couldn't accept. But he's always been an impulsive type of deity, as most of his family was. Do now, apologize later, for most of them. He just didn't...really want it to have to come to that.

He probably hadn't thought about how this is their first kiss since Amphitrite came to, but it only occurs to him once it's already happening. By then, he's being kissed back with a sort of enthusiasm that tells him that it wasn't wrong for him to do after all.

It's a very comforting feeling, that...and it makes him relax when he feels Amphitrite's arms thread their way around and behind his neck, to which he responds by holding onto him in kind, hands resting carefully along his sides while they kiss.]

[ He hates to part and end this, because honestly he'd like it to never end. But he also knows there will be even more kisses to come; just because it's their first in what feels like ages doesn't mean it'll be their last. So eventually he does part from Poseidon, but not without playfully nipping at the other's bottom lip first.

He rests his forehead against Poseidon's afterwards, eyes barely open more than a small slit. At some point during all that his tail found its way around the other god's, wrapping itself around him. ]

Oh how long I have waited for that... it felt like ages since our last kiss.

[That gets a chuckle out of the sea king, a deep one that reverberates in his chest and rumbles against Amphitrite's even as they've pulled away from one another. Well, if he needed his answer about whether or not that was okay, he got it.]

It does...but it will surely not be the last.

[He tilts his head upward slightly, just enough to bump their noses together briefly.]

Thank you. For trusting me to see you.

[ Amphitrite blushes again, averting his eyes... but he's smiling. ]

Of course... I said I wanted you to see, right? You and only you...

[ And then he pouts. ]

Now if only it had not been because of my own silly obliviousness...

[ Yeah he's gonna be a bit sore about that for a while still ]

Ah...you wanted it to be special, right?

[He remarks, lifting a hand to brush his bangs off his forehead. He also takes a brief moment to adjust the crown of shells on his head, noticing it had gone a bit awry since he'd changed in and out of snake form so many times.]

It still can be, you know...there is plenty yet that I have not seen.

[ OH...

The implication isn't lost on him, and his face manages to turn even redder. Then he pushes himself away a little by the shoulders, a sly look on his face. ]

Mmmm there is, isn't there? You had something to do though, did you not?

[ One of his hands ghosts up and strokes Poseidon's hair and face. ]

Perhaps we shall see when you finish... ❤

[ he is going to have to undress and redress after all ]

[That is certainly something to look forward to, and a reason he is glad their sons aren't here right now. Hopefully they won't just come barging in later like they tend to forget and just...do. It's not like coral has a door or anything.]

I can get started on that now, if you would like. It should not take me too terribly long...the magic spent will be little enough that it should not cause me any problems, either.
