[He gives Megami's coils one last pat with his finger before pulling it away.]

O-Okay! [ At that he makes his way out of Poseidon's hand, having no trouble slithering down his body and back onto the sand. Advantages of being part snake. ] I'm just going to put some space between us... j-just in case! [ Apparently he meant... now... Hugs are very serious, okay. Once there's adequate space he stops and closes his eyes, hands clasped, trying to focus... ]

[Well well. This should be interesting...and true to his word, even though he is surprised he's trying right NOW, Poseidon leans back on his forearms and watches Megami as he concentrates.]

[ He keeps concentrating... but nothing happens. Except for the way his face starts to look a little strained, the face of someone getting frustrated that they aren't getting results... Finally after all that something poofs and changes... ]

[matteimasu]

[ ...But in Megami's place is well Well he's huge all right A giant snake ] ...Ah.

[karappo]

[...Ah.]

W-well......you are larger?

[matteimasu]

[ His scales turn red and he lowers his head, tongue flicking out as he speaks ] W-Well, y-yes but--! [ the end of his body comes up to cover his eyes like a hand would ] Ughhhh, this is embarrassing!! I'm sorry!

[karappo]

N-non non, do not be embarrassed! I do not mind your snake form at all...

[Poseidon tries his damnest not to laugh, not wanting to embarrass the goddess even further.]

Come over, if you would? So I can see you better.

[matteimasu]

[ He groans but... slithers closer anyway True to his word he is... very big. Big enough to easily wrap himself around Poseidon if he wanted. He doesn't say anything but his scales are still flushed ]

[karappo]

[Very big indeed...he's actually impressed by the size at which Megami has grown. He would terrify a human this way, easily.

But Poseidon isn't afraid. He just extends one of his hands carefully to place it atop the snake's head, actually able to carefully pet him with his hand as opposed to having to use a fingertip.]

[matteimasu]

[ Oh that... feels kinda nice. ...But it's not a hug, which was what he was aiming for ] I-Is this to tell me g-good job...?

[karappo]

Mmhmm, it is~

[Pet pet...he could have just gone for the hug, but...well, Poseidon hasn't hugged. He isn't even sure where to start, really, so he sticks with what he knows.]

[matteimasu]

[ Well good thing it feels good, he even raises his head into the pets like a cat would... but he's still pouty about his failure ] I'm going to try again, maybe it will easier while I'm like this. [ it should be as simple as just changing his upper half right???? ]

[karappo]

[TOTALLY SIMPLE.

He does pull his hand away at that though, albeit a bit reluctantly. He's being such a cute snake right now, it's hard.]

[ okay okay concentrate concentrate... just think of the hugs Megami! Do it for the hugs...! Eventually he poofs again and... he is still big! And he does have his human half with his snake tail! His face brightens as he realizes he actually succeeded-- ]

[matteimasu]

[ ...and then falters when he realizes that Poseidon is still even bigger. Megami isn't palm sized anymore by any means, but he's maybe only half the size of Poseidon roughly. It's still not big enough ] Wh... Why?! Why can't I get bigger than this?! [ ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ]

[karappo]

[Even if he's only half his size, it's still...a very impressive feat, at least in Poseidon's eyes. In fact, it's so impressive that his smile fades slightly and he just...stares at Megami for a long time, his eyes full of wonder.

Because for the first time, someone else who isn't one of his brothers is almost his size. And that means a hell of a lot when you've grappled with crippling loneliness all your life, even in the presence of your own sons.

Without answering Megami's rhetorical question, Poseidon reaches out towards him, beckoning.]

C..come here, Megami.

[matteimasu]

[ Megami doesn't realize that's the reason behind Poseidon's reaction, and he feels even more dejected... but he comes closer anyway, still pouting, expecting another pat on the head for "doing his best". He's embarrassed and ashamed ]

[karappo]

[Well...this time, when Megami comes closer, he might notice that Poseidon's eyes are glassy. His hands are shaking a touch, but it's hard to tell from a distance. He's obviously a little emotional, and it explains why he doesn't say anything else for a long moment even when Megami is right in front of him.

He reaches out, but instead of patting his head he brushes his bangs from off his forehead, this time able to use all of his fingers instead of just one.]

Y...you are perfect. I don't care...you're perfect.

[matteimasu]

[ Megami is immediately taken aback - by the reaction, the gesture his words...

It leaves him speechless- no, breathless for a moment, as the red starts to creep into his face again. Finally after a moment of trying to regain himself he stammers ]

I... A-Are you sure? I-I'm still not--

[karappo]

It doesn't matter.

[Poseidon is quick to correct him, shaking his head a little as he lets his fingers linger against his skin, just beneath the shells now adorning his head.

And then...before even he really has the opportunity to think much about it, Poseidon leans his body forward and- with some hesitation- wraps his arms around Megami like he's afraid he'll shatter if he grips him too tightly.]

[matteimasu]

[ Megami gasps sharply once Poseidon's arms are around him, his breath taken away. And for a moment (that feels far too long) he doesn't react at all.

But eventually he wraps his own arms as best he can around Poseidon in return, though much more tightly, like he's clinging to him for dear life or something. He buries his face in the nook of his neck and Poseidon may feel a wetness there, as Megami starts to cry again.

He got his hug. ]

[karappo]

[He'd expected as much in terms of reaction...especially because he's crying too, just quietly. Pretty much the instant he put his arms around him his eyes began to well with tears, and while Megami cries into his neck he chances a slightly tighter grip, though remains a bit too unsure to hold him much tighter than that given their continued size difference.

But it's just...so much. It's so much. For both of them.

He doesn't say anything. He just holds Megami in his arms while they both cry, because they obviously need a moment. ...but that doesn't stop him from eventually lifting one of his hands to hold against the back of Megami's head, his fingers smoothing down his hair in a way that he hopes is soothing.]

[matteimasu]

[ It is soothing, though somehow it makes him cry more. He may have been "embraced" in the past, but it was never with his own comfort or sense of security in mind... always with someone else's.

He stays like that for a while, quietly crying and holding tightly afraid to let go in case he went back to normal size the moment he did. Eventually though, when the glow of the moment begins to pass, he speaks up ]

Poseidon you... said you'd never been held... correct?
