[He goes very quiet, a little surprised by what Megami does in response. It isn't to say that he didn't expect it, but...it certainly is enough to push him over the edge to actually crying, though he keeps his head back far enough that his tears won't land on and soak the goddess.

He sucks in a shaky breath and laughs on it weakly, lifting his other hand to wipe at his face.]

I...I believe we know now where Choromatsu got his singing ability from...

[matteimasu]

[ ...oh no. Oh no this wasn't what he wanted. What he says doesn't even register to Megami at first. ] Oh no-- I-I'm sorry! [ He tries to stand though he's wobbly, struggling to find his footing for a moment ] P-Please don't cry...!

[karappo]

Oh no...non non...I am not upset.

[He says this quietly as he lifts his hand up closer to his face, carefully so Megami doesn't fall over.]

Your singing...it is beautiful.

[matteimasu]

[ His face is red again at that ] Ah... r-really? I'm g-glad you think so, I-I... [ And then he feels so flustered he just poofs back into a snake without meaning to ]

[karappo]

[.....ah.

For a split second, Poseidon just...thinks that Megami straight up vanished. But luckily, he notices the little snake in his hand before getting too worried, bringing his palm up to eye level with a face still wet with tears.]

...Megami?

[matteimasu]

S... S-Sorry... [ as a snake he curls up in a tight coil, hiding his head ] S-Sometimes when I get f-flustered... th-this happens...

[karappo]

A-ah....

[No...don't hide....

Poseidon tilts his head a little, reaching a large finger down to gently tap the top of his coils.]

It is alright! I do not mind you this way. It is quite charming.

[matteimasu]

R... Really?

[ he peaks his head back out, scales turned red... because somehow THAT's possible for a god snake ]

Y-You're going to make me b-blush if you keep up this f-flaterry, sea king...

[ you're already blushing ]

[Poseidon raises a brow when the little snake looks back up at him, and he chuckles.]

Ah...I would not want to do that, now would I...?

[matteimasu]

[ this snake is giving a "you're enjoying this aren't you" look he uncoils a bit but doesn't change back ] A-Anyway, why don't you tell me about your other sons?

[karappo]

[Maybe he is...just a little...]

Oh...where do I even begin to start? Let's see...

[He leans back a little in the sand, resting his back against the cliffside.]

Osomatsu is the eldest, and used to get into some of the worst trouble as a child...even now he is getting himself into things he should not. He can be rather lazy and lax when it comes to doing things...he is very interested in going with the flow in life and not worrying about things.

Karamatsu... [Another chuckle.] ...he takes after me quite a bit. He absolutely adores anything that sparkles and shines, and will often adorn himself with things as such. He is very proud of both himself and his appearance, and he is not afraid to let people know it. His siblings tend to brush him off to the wayside at times...possibly they are embarrassed by the way he acts, but I do not think he fully understands.

Ichimatsu is incredibly soft spoken and tends to stick with his brothers. He never says a whole lot, never does a whole lot...but he loves animals. I will see him playing with starfish, seahorses, catfish...mostly catfish on any given day. But soft spoken he may be, he can have a terrifying temper.

Jyushimatsu is the fifth eldest and he is....very, very excitable. His energy knows no bounds and some days even I cannot keep up with him. He only slows down to sleep, and even then he is constantly moving. He loves to play, whether it be by himself or with his brothers.

And then Todomatsu, the youngest...he very much loves being treated as the baby of the group, and very often will come to me about his brothers doing this or that. The others sometimes see him as a tattle tale for that reason...but I think he is just mischievous like Osomatsu or Choromatsu. It would not surprise me, anyway.

[matteimasu]

[ He listens intently, enjoying learning more about the children that he gave up. He wondered a lot about what they might be like many times over the years, and it's nice to finally learn. ]

They sound so animated... I'm looking forward to meeting them all.

[karappo]

Mm...and I look forward to introducing you to them. It is not every day you get to meet the goddess who created you, after all.

[...he's just...going to have to tell the others, first.

Since...Choromatsu is as of yet the only one who knows...]

They will be wanting to visit you all the time.

[matteimasu]

All... the time... [ He looks down... that would be nice... ] That won't... be dangerous for them, will it? Though I suppose since no one comes here anymore it might be all right...

Even if it were dangerous, I think they would be alright. You would be here to protect and watch over them, non?

[Like a good...parent...]

[matteimasu]

Ah... w-well yes, but...

...I'm not sure how able I'd be to protect them if something went wrong...

[ he couldn't protect his island after all... ]

[karappo]

Well...when you become a caretaker, you find that you discover ways to keep them safe even if you did not think you could.

[It's a roundabout way of saying when you're a parent you will do EVERYTHING you can to protect your children.

And Megami, technically...is their parent too.]

I would trust them in your care.

[That and they're not actually babies anymore at least, they're adults more or less.]

[matteimasu]

[ He's still unsure but that Poseidon would trust him with them makes his heart flutter a little ] If... If you say so then... But... I do think it'd be better if you came with them... ...I know I would like that. A lot. N-Not just for my peace of mind.

[karappo]

Oh, of course I would.

[As he says this, he reaches down to ever so gently pet the top of his snake head with a finger.]

Trust me, I may trust you...but I cannot say I would trust them alone with you for a while...

[matteimasu]

[ Okay that does get him to laugh ] I suppose they do sound like troublemakers... they're not that bad though, are they? [ yes ]

[karappo]

[Not...that bad...]

They can be...fairly bad...though I do not think they ever mean any real harm in it.

[matteimasu]

I see... I suppose I'll find that out for myself soon.

[ a pause ]

Um... I'm gonna try changing back now.

[ just warning him so it doesn't startle him again ]

[karappo]

Oh! Yes, yes of course. Go right ahead.

[He'll hold his palm out a little flatter, just to give him some room.]

[matteimasu]

[ He appreciates that a lot and once he has the extra room he poofs right back into his humanoid form Or almost. Truth is he went back to his natural form, which doesn't have legs, but a long snake tail like a mer would have a fish's ........He doesn't seem to notice this. ] Ah, thank you.

[karappo]

[Ah.

Poseidon blinks, slowly, and stares at Megami for a long moment...looking him over with intrigue as he feels the weight of the snake tail against his hand.

....that's actually kindof hot interesting.]
