[Well, color him surprised. He turns his hand to the side just a bit so he can look at the tail Megami now suddenly has, watching the way it coils around him in a much larger form of the snake body he had before. He can see why it frightened humans, but to Poseidon?

He smiles a little, his fins flicking downward.]

[Poseidon blinks slowly, balling his free hand into a fist for a moment. The stone in the center of his chest glows a bright blue for a few seconds until the gauntlet on that hand disappears with a duller flash of blue and white, leaving his hand bare.

Only then does he reach over to use one fingertip to geeeently pet the length of Megami's tail, and when he does his eyes widen immediately.]

[His is very rough in places, especially if felt opposite the grain of the way his scales grow. Not to mention occasionally slick because...well, he's a fish.

He kindof thought Megami would be slimy, to be honest.]

[ RUDE of course he's not slimy! Megami smiles though, watching Poseidon pet him. Then, with little warning, he flicks his tail up and wraps it around Poseidon's finger ] Isn't it? I try my best to take care of it even if no one sees it... [ he is mostly watching for Poseidon's reaction though ]

[Poseidon had been enjoying the softness of Megami's tail, at least until it's suddenly wrapped around that same finger, prompting him to go still.

[ Megami's grin widens, and he props his elbows up on a section of tail, resting his face in his hands. ] Is that why you seem at a loss for words? [ And then he tightens his tail's grip on the sea god, squeezing gently but firmly ]

Poseidon's own tail, speaking of, curls in the shallows along the edge of the island, the flat of the fin slapping the water briefly until he realizes it's moving and makes it dip back under the water entirely.

...he squints, then coughs on a laugh.]

P...Perhaps I am simply dazzled by it's beauty.

[ Well shit that gets him to blush again... but it's ok these reactions make it worth it. ] Really? Unfortunately, it's honestly a little plain as far as snakes go. [ He uncurls the tail suddenly and releases Poseidon, letting it fall and hang off the hand he's still perched on. It sways back and forth like someone swaying their legs would. His grin is still there; he's determined to not get beat here after being flustered so much already. ] I'm glad you think it's beautiful though. Because touching a snake's tail for that long means you'll have to marry me now~ [ HE'S JOKING.............ri.......ght............. (yes) ]

[Poseidon pulls his hand back reflexively, though he doesn't re-don his gauntlet. It looks a little weird only wearing one, but it's...fine, for now.

He watches Megami carefully as he swings his tail like that, a bit surprised to hear him call it plain, and yet-]

Poseidon doesn't know, he doesn't know how lesser water gods work, much less...snake bodied ones...]

[He's...he probably does understand that Megami can't possibly be talking seriously about this, but at the same time the thought of it- the serious thought of not being "alone" anymore in that sense- resonates deeply with Poseidon.

So, without a hint of irony, he holds Megami up to eye level and says:]

It is true. I did promise that. ...and here I thought most gods were fickle, yet now I must make such a commitment...
