[Poseidon blinks and leans back a little so he can look at the goddess properly, as if he's unable to believe that he's okay enough to speak. He's afraid to do much, afraid that just handling him wrong might hurt him somehow.
He moves his hand up a touch, enough so his fingers can thread through the side of his wet hair.]
[He starts, but he doesn't make it far. He chokes up, and quite suddenly wraps his arm around him that isn't holding him up, his words almost choked off with emotion.]
[The sea king just shakes his head and holds Megami a bit tighter, because now he's crying again and he...can't stop, really. Because for a bit there, he genuinely thought Megami was going to die without him ever being able to tell him he loved him.
[ ...He can't quite remember what happened but... it's not hard to guess from the weak state he was put in earlier, the crying, and their location that Poseidon must have saved his life, doing what he could to bring him here. It's also not hard to guess that Megami probably gave him a terrible fright.
So he tries to soothe him as best he can, stroking his hair and shushing him gently, nuzzling his own head against him. ]
[It's a whole other feeling, to be able to embrace and be embraced by Megami. Sure, he's felt it before, but this...this is on a new level now that they are so close in size. It makes him laugh just a little, thickly past his tears as he sits in the water with him, too afraid to let him go just yet.]
[ He closes his eyes and lifts his head enough to push his own forehead against Poseidon's. At the "somehow I did" though he reopens his eyes and turns his head enough to look at where Poseidon's tail should be. His eyes widen a little when he sees the legs, though a part of him had realized that must have been how Poseidon brought him here already. ]

[ He knows that Poseidon claimed to have never done it before. ]
[Poseidon reacts like he just remembered that his tail is gone, looking back down at his legs awkwardly curled beneath him as if he isn't sure how he's supposed to hold them.]
I...I did. I tried to bring you here, but I could not carry you...I was so desperate to find some sort of way, some solution. Before I know it, I became like this.
[ He shifts a little, resting his head against Poseidon's shoulder and letting his arms hang a little more loosely around him. He's still looking at the legs. ]

[ Seeing him actually do it... to save him... and now holding him now at the same size ]
[That is not subtle, that is not subtle in the slightest. It's also a sensation that Poseidon doesn't know what to do with, because what are legs.
He tries to bend them a little, but he finds that they're too tired and sore from his failed attempts at walking so he ends up having to keep them still while Megami runs his tail over them.]

He had been terribly upset with me, almost as much as Choromatsu was...I have not spoken to him since Choromatsu left, not really...but he told me he came to you, and he was very upset. It was not something I was expecting out of him, considering.

Osomatsu is very close to this family. I do not particularly foresee him ever leaving it...which is why I am both surprised and not to hear about what he did. ...he must have realized how much he considered you family as well.
Are they going to be all right? Should you not go back to them soon? Osomatsu was... very concerned about me...

[ Theoretically Poseidon should be able to maintain this form easily for however long he wants... he's a higher god and this is a form smaller than his actual one so maintaining it should be as effortless as breathing. But it's also his first time doing it, his first time (he presumes) in fresh water and he's gone through an ordeal already today... It'd be pretty bad if he just went back to normal in the middle of the island. ]
[That...is actually a very good point. It's probably thanks to the sheer amount of shock and adrenaline that Poseidon hasn't changed back yet, and even then his body probably isn't going to be able to take the fresh water for much longer...but at least not having to breathe it makes it more tolerable.
His expression tightens, suddenly torn between staying with Megami and going back to the children...something he doesn't know if he can choose between.]
...would you be okay here, though? I am...very hard pressed to leave you.
[ He smiles and moves one arm so he can caress Poseidon's face. ]
I will be now... now that I am here. And I really do mean that this time. The lake will recover my energy.

...But I... will likely not be able to greet at the shore for a long while. It will not be a good idea for me to leave the lake for quite some time... days even...
[ Which pains him honestly... not being able to see Poseidon (unless he comes to him) and having to postpone meeting the rest of their children... it hurts ]
