Well, in truth I actually do not have a name at all! There were so many of us... my parents never gave us names. Any of my named siblings chose their names for themselves when they grew older.
I never saw a need for that though... and it was not until humans appeared on the island and settled there that "Megami" came to be. They called me that once they saw me... in their native tongue it actually just means "Goddess".
So, you see... this whole time everyone's only really known me as "Goddess". That's all I have ever been called.
But as you said so yourself I am not really a goddess, now am I?
I did say that...though I suppose it is truly up to you whether you choose to go by that name or not, at this point...especially given the fact that your people gave it to you to begin with, unknowingly.

[You know, he's not sure how long it's going to take him to get used to this. Sure, he'd been visiting the island a lot before...but this will be the first time Poseidon will have had the chance to experience constant affection and company without having to leave at the end of the day. It hasn't really sunk in fully yet, and he's certain it won't even a few months from now.]
Not just the wife...you will be the Queen of the sea. ...assuming you would accept that title, of course.
[He blinks slowly, looking happy, but tired.]

[ He gets back to work at taking care of all this magma though. He is going to unseal that eye, he swears. ]
That is all right though... [ and then he laughs a little to himself ] If anything I will be taking after my mother and stepping into her title. I am sure my parents would be happy to know one of their children has succeeded them after all.
[ He pouts, face red as he carefully picks at the magma ]
Careful, darling-- [ not just because it hurts you but because he'd hate to fuck up while so close to an eye ] I-I am not so sure it is that honest of a mistake... it feels like a very silly one!

[He's almost afraid to, honestly...when Adranus struck him the first time, the magma not only burned, but it sortof stuck to him as it solidified. At least the water kept it from burning too badly, cooling it fast enough to make it harden.
He opens his eye as instructed, looking up at a double image of the river goddess until it shifts into one, leaving his vision still slightly blurry and unfocused, but at least he can see at all. The skin around his eye is, unfortunately, still burned, but it would heal over time. Quickly, given his strength as a god.]
[ Megami-- no, Amphitrite smiles, then reaches up to touch the burn, making the water around his fingertips cool so it can hopefully soothe the skin. A newer power in place of some his older ones. ]
Not at all - you look as dashing as ever, in fact.
[ Look, he suffered it for the sake of him and their children, it's kinda hot ]
[That gets Poseidon to scoff, exhaling slowly as he curls his tail a bit closer to himself.]

[It could have been a lot worse, honestly. Adranus would have permanently maimed him if he could, and in fact tried before he lost the ability to fight any longer.]
I will be mobile again within the next few days...in the meantime, I may have to rest, reluctant though I am. Which means the children are yours for a few days.
[ Now that the magma is taken care of he moves on to wipe the rest of the ash and soot off his face with that scrap of toga ]
All right. Please rest then, I will take care of the boys while you do. I am sure they will have no complaints to give about that.
...Also do feel like you have to stay up for my sake if you would like to rest now. I will continue to tend to you through the night, before our children can awaken. I have been asleep for a month, I can stay awake to do this much.

I...suppose I made it this large with the intention of sharing it with someone, someday. But the end result just meant that I was reminded every day of how lonely I truly was. It's meant for two.
[It's really exciting to think about, actually. Just laying on the beach with Megami that day when he first fell asleep...it was very sad, but nice.]
