[Megami is going to experience a lot of "oh god whale" while he's living down here, but suffice it to say it is not a whale this time. The shadow is over as quickly as it comes, and there's a telltale sound of scales shifting as someone swims through the connecting coral reefs to get to their rooms proper.
It's Poseidon, no doubt about that. But he's moving slowly, laboriously...like he's been gone on a very long trip and just got back. He had scanned the reef entrance first before actually moving inside, not entirely keen on his sons seeing him the way he is right now. It's unfortunate, then, that he doesn't realize that not only are the children in his room, but Megami is awake and with them also.
Poseidon swims into the room without seeing Megami at first, but it doesn't last when he turns away from the entrance and looks over to see his beloved curled up with their many children.
The sea king is covered from head to tail-fin in soot, and one of the sharp tines of his trident is completely broken off. The right side of his face is further coated with soot and ash, his eye temporarily sealed shut by it all. The rest of him is haggard in some way or form, his armor dented and broken in places. But when he sees Megami up and about, he loses his balance in the water and falls forward against his trident, spearing the butt-end into the sand to hold himself upright.
When he breathes out his name- quiet, to not wake the children- it bleeds relief.]
