...but. In spite of what Choromatsu said about rather being dead than with his human companions, Poseidon is not in the position of wanting his son to outright hate him, even though he figures he might just end up doing so if he really banishes him from the shore.

Wordlessly, he reaches down and catches the necklace in his palm before it can fall too far. But instead of handing it back to his son, he keeps his hold on it as he turns in place and starts to swim back home.]
